Description, and Analytics

1

He was sitting on a mat, enclosed in a small cell like the ones where high-profile prison inmates are kept. A prison officer came to the small enclosure, put his hand in his pocket, and brought out a bunch of keys. He pulled out a large one and used it to open the door. Looking at the man inside, he said, "Sir, you are free now. Congratulations," as he looked at him. The man didn't even look his way, let alone give any feedback to thank him for the congratulations on his release from prison. He closed his tired eyes, making a facial expression as if he was about to cry. Slowly, he stood up, dusted himself off, and walked out of the tiny room. No one paid him any attention until he finished walking out and headed toward the main prison gate. He stopped, closed his eyes, and inhaled the fresh air that he hadn't breathed in for a long time. He continued walking until he reached the gate. He frowned when he heard too much noise, put his hand to his forehead—which felt like it was about to split open—and continued walking until he got to the gate.

A female journalist widened her eyes in shock when she saw his outfit: just three-quarter shorts and a white sleeveless t-shirt that highlighted his black skin. His entire upper body was covered in non-believer-style tattoos; although he was a dark-skinned man, the tattoos stood out vividly on his broad chest and the side of his neck. The hair on his head was very black, reaching down to his neck, matching his large eyes and sharp nose. He cast his captivating, heart-stealing blue eyeballs—capable of enchanting young women—at the journalist who was staring at him. She took a breath and said:

"I'm Feeya, can you tell us how you feel from released in jail?"

He made a face before moving his small lips, which bore thick red lips, and said:

"Fuck you."

Saying that, he headed toward a very handsome big black car with the license plate number IRFAN MAI FATA 2. As soon as he reached the car, Aryan threw himself onto his body, hugged him, and said, "Congratulations on release from jail, buddy," as he wiped away a tear that was about to fall. Aryan opened the car door for him, and he got into the back seat while Aryan went to the driver's side, started the car, and while the crowd around was shouting, "Sir Irfan, congratulations," he didn't even look at them as they sped off and left the prison premises.

Jidda's POV

She was standing, completely dressed up to go to work. She was wearing an Ankara skirt and blouse that tightly hugged her petite, beautiful body. She raised her white eyes, looked into the mirror, gave a slight smile, and rolled her lulu eyes.

The bedroom door was pushed open, and with full surprise on her face, [someone] said, "Jiddah, you're still here?" looking closely at Jidda's face, whose outfit she completely disliked. Jidda did nothing but pout her lips. Mama looked at her again before saying:

"Hurry up dear, they will be here any minute."

Jidda widened her eyes; she had completely forgotten that the discussion about her marriage was happening today. She just nodded, turned back to keep looking in the mirror, adjusted her glass frames, and mocking a male voice, said:

"Daddy, I can't marry this girl and I don't like her anymore, she is blind."

She said this with a quiet laugh, readjusted her white glasses, took a breath, and said, "Abbi, if you would understand and drop this marriage talk, no one will marry your blind daughter."

Irfan's POV

They stopped in front of a massive mansion. Aryan honked, and the house guard came and opened the gate. The nose of the car drove into the huge compound of the house, stopping nowhere except under the car port. He parked, opened the car door, got out, and reached back to open the rear side. Slowly, he pulled his feet out of the car while closing his big eyes again. Aryan chuckled and said, "Welcome to your house, Irfan." He bit his lips and walked ahead toward the door leading inside the house. He stepped aside slightly as Aryan pulled a small remote from his pocket and pressed it, causing the glass door to swing open. They went in together, and as they arrived, Irfan headed straight for the huge fridge. Aryan's mood soured, but he said nothing. Irfan opened the fridge, closed his eyes at that moment, let out a breath, and in his exhausted voice said:

"How are my devils?"

He spoke while taking a breath, right as he pulled out a bottle of alcohol (gin). Aryan looked at him and said, "They're all fine." As he popped the cap open and moved to put it to his mouth, [Aryan] quickly grabbed the bottle. Irfan winced—more than anything in the world, he hated interruptions.

"Irfan, think about your father, he doesn't like your habit," Aryan said.

Irfan looked at Aryan with a stare without saying anything. "Your father needs you," Aryan added quickly, noticing Irfan's eyes starting to change color. Aryan nodded and continued, "Yes, buddy, your daddy needs your love and nothing else."

Irfan snatched his hand away from Aryan's in anger and said, "Don't ever call that name! How is my father? I don't have any father, I'm a single father, my father is already dead!"

He spoke while trying to put the bottle of gin to his mouth. Aryan grabbed him again, saying:

"No, Irfan, don't say that please."

With all his strength, Irfan pushed Aryan away, headed toward the staircase, put the bottle to his mouth, and began guzzling it down until he finished it all. Then, he hurled the gin bottle down to the ground floor, making a loud crash: *tasss!*

2. Summary

The story begins with the release of a young man named Irfan from a high-security prison. Despite a prison officer's polite congratulations and a female journalist's (Feeya) probing question, Irfan responds with cold indifference and hostility, capped off with profanity. His loyal friend, Aryan, picks him up in a car bearing the name "IRFAN MAI FATA 2" amidst cheering onlookers.

Meanwhile, in another scene, a young woman named Jidda is dressing for work. Her mother and sister remind her about an impending arranged marriage visit. Jidda bitterly mocks the idea, expressing her resentment and wishing her father would cancel the marriage since she loves someone named Sameer and considers herself "blind" to this forced arrangement.

Upon arriving at his luxurious mansion, Irfan immediately seeks alcohol, prompting a tense confrontation with Aryan regarding his estranged father and destructive lifestyle habits. Irfan violently rejects any mention of his father, claiming he is dead and has no father, before drinking heavily and storming off to his room in a drunken stupor. Later, Amrah (Irfan's sister) arrives, and discussions ensue about managing Irfan's life, his business affairs at *Irfan Petroleum and Gas*, and keeping negative influences away. The chapter closes with religious calls to prayer echoing, highlighting contrasts in the community, and setting up future tensions.

3. Character & Setting Descriptions

  • Irfan: A brooding, rebellious, and wealthy young man recently released from prison. He has a dark complexion, broad chest, heavy tattoos ("non-believer style") covering his upper body and neck, long black hair reaching his neck, sharp nose, thick red lips, and striking, captivating blue eyes. He struggles with deep-seated trauma regarding his father, abuses alcohol, and shows disdain for society.
  • Aryan: Irfan's devoted best friend and right-hand man. He looks after Irfan, manages logistics (like his business emails and travel), tries to guide him away from self-destruction, and shares a complex, emotionally charged dynamic with Irfan's sister, Amrah.
  • Feeya: A curious female journalist who approaches Irfan upon his prison release, only to be met with hostility.
  • Jidda: A young woman facing an unwanted arranged marriage. She is headstrong, witty, deeply in love with Sameer, and uses humor and sarcasm to cope with her family's pressures.
  • Amrah: Irfan's older sister. She is fair-skinned with striking eyes, deeply concerned about Irfan's self-destructive behavior, and works alongside Aryan to keep him grounded.
  • Settings: The story shifts between a harsh prison gate environment, Jidda's modest family home filled with marital tension, and Irfan's extravagant, high-tech mansion.

4. Narrative Analytics & Themes

  • Father-Son Estrangement & Trauma: A core psychological driver in the narrative is Irfan's vehement denial of his father. The mention of his father triggers intense aggression and substance abuse, pointing to a deeply traumatic past that landed him in prison and alienated him from family.
  • Addiction and Coping Mechanisms: Irfan's heavy reliance on alcohol and isolation illustrates how he numbs his internal pain and deflects external emotional support from Aryan and Amrah.
  • Class and Societal Contrast: The juxtaposition between Jidda's middle-class family pressures regarding marriage and Irfan's elite, ultra-wealthy lifestyle highlights diverse social strata in the narrative framework.
  • Interpersonal Dynamics & Loyalty: Aryan represents unwavering loyalty, balancing friendship with professional oversight (managing corporate emails and security), while Amrah embodies familial concern and emotional stakes.
