When Prince Kamsus heard King Alkasim pose this question to him, asking what exactly he feared in a confrontation between man and jinn, his mind became deeply agitated. He knew that the King would not care in the slightest about the matter of the two twins. However, Kamsus knew that a tiny speck of grass, if underestimated, could blind a man's eye. Even though Prince Kamsus acknowledged their personal bravery, their physical strength, their martial expertise, and the power of their mystical sorcery, he knew that an enemy is always a dangerous thing since you remain completely ignorant of their strategy and the malevolent preparations they have long kept against you.
For this reason, Prince Kamsus resolved within his heart that he would exercise absolute vigilance in safeguarding his own life and that of his father. He would continue to keep a watchful eye until he uncovered the true identity of these twins and the underlying motive that drove them to join this caravan traveling to the city of Dilhar to honor the invitation of Emperor Masarul Anjana.
King Alkasim faced the entire assembly in the court with absolute authority. Smiling proudly, he proclaimed:
"O citizens of the city of Egypt, know that right now, we set forth on our journey toward the city of Dilhar to honor the invitation of Emperor Masarul Anjana. We do so not because we fear him as the other kings of the world fear him, nor because we seek any favor from him, for we are immensely wealthy. We do this solely to demonstrate to the entire world that our might is absolute, and that we are fully capable of contending with anyone—be it man or jinn!"
As King Alkasim concluded his grand speech, the court erupted into a frenzy of thunderous cheers and applause. The crowd began to pay intense homage and recite praise-titles to King Alkasim, who roared in response, raising his sword high into the air.
At that exact moment, Prince Kamsus maintained absolute composure. He locked his eyes onto the entire group of their traveling companions standing before them, systematically analyzing everyone, one by one. Suddenly, he spotted a particular warrior in the middle of the crowd who kept his head lowered toward the ground. For a prolonged period, this warrior refused to raise his head to look at anyone. Upon witnessing this anomaly, Prince Kamsus left the spot where the King stood and carved his way through the traveling companions, heading directly toward the location of this mysterious warrior. However, before he could reach the exact spot, the warrior vanished completely into thin air, as if he had utilized an invisibility charm.
This development profoundly rattled Prince Kamsus, who quickly resumed scanning the dense crowd. Suddenly, he spotted the female twin at the far edge of the assembly. But before he could reach where she stood, she too vanished completely!
Now, the prince's anxiety escalated beyond measure. He quickly retreated to the spot where the King stood, taking a position right behind him, keeping a highly alert gaze on every single corner to guarantee absolute security—effectively becoming the King's specialized personal bodyguard.
Right then, King Alkasim concluded his address regarding this monumental journey. Without wasting any time, horses, camels, and mules laden with travel provisions were brought forward, and everyone mounted their respective beasts. King Alkasim, along with Prince Kamsus and his specialized vanguard of elite soldiers, took up the rear position, while the warriors, drummers, singers, comedians, and various other talented individuals advanced at the front.
The caravan began its mass exodus from the city of Egypt. Indeed, one would think the entire population of the world was undergoing a migration due to their sheer numbers. Women, children, and the elderly lined the doorways of their homes, waving to bid them farewell and wishing them a safe return. Some could be seen weeping out of the sorrow of parting with their loved ones, knowing fully well that there was no guarantee they would make it to the city of Sin alive and return home. Within a few moments, the grand army had traveled deep outside the city limits of Egypt, plunging into the wilderness.
They spent seven grueling hours trekking deep into the forest without encountering a single issue, after which King Alkasim issued a command for the caravan to halt and set up camp to rest and eat. Instantly, the caravan came to a halt, and tents were erected.
In the midst of this activity, the commander of King Alkasim’s vanguard, a man named Uzaila bin Kaidas, addressed the entire group of traveling companions, saying:
"O my brothers, be informed that the prince has issued an order. He desires that whenever we set up camp, we must divide ourselves into five distinct units: the first unit shall be the assembly of warriors, followed by the units of singers, drummers, comedians, and finally, those with various other unique talents. Anyone who fails to place themselves within one of these designated groups will face immediate punishment and investigation."
When Uzaila reached this point in his announcement, King Alkasim was filled with delight and marvelled at his son's brilliant strategy. He realized that through this method, any hidden enemies attempting to infiltrate this caravan would inevitably be exposed.
Indeed, the wise elders spoke the truth when they said that the owner of a treasure is always craftier than the one who covets it. As it turned out, the very moment King Alkasim issued the command to set up camp, the two twins vanished completely from the caravan along with their horses, as though they had never even existed, utilizing the immense power of their sorcery. Following their disappearance, they materialized a short distance behind the camp within a dense thicket.
They immediately dismounted their horses and sat flat upon the ground, resting their chins in their hands in an expression of deep frustration and distress. For several moments, neither of them uttered a single word. Finally, the male twin cleared his throat, looked at the female, and said:
"O Namrita, what are we to do now? Prince Kamsus continuously thwarts our chances of assassinating his father. If not for the constant protection he provides him, we would have long completed our revenge for our father's death. This new tactic he has just introduced—separating the caravan into five distinct groups—will surely expose us. Our only option is to abandon the idea of traveling among them, and instead begin planning a surprise ambush against him."
Upon hearing this, Namrita let out a bitter scoff in absolute sorrow and replied:
"If one desires to harvest honey, one must first eliminate the mother bee. Let us simply kill the Prince first, since he is the sole obstacle preventing us from fulfilling our ultimate ambition."
When the warrior Zaihas heard this statement from his sister, the warrior Namrita, he looked at her in a fit of rage and bellowed:
"Have you already forgotten the final dying wish our mother left us? She strictly warned us never to dare harm the child because of our hatred for the father! Our ultimate goal is that just as he made us orphans, his son too must become an orphan. Remember that when King Alkasim executed our father, Prince Kamsus did not approve of it; he even shed tears out of deep compassion for us. You saw his tears with your own eyes, just as you have continuously emphasized to me. For what reason would you now say we should kill the Prince?"
Hearing this, Namrita scoffed bitterly and replied:
"If I detest a mother, I must naturally despise her offspring. I hate King Alkasim, so there is no way I can love his bloodline. I accept that Kamsus bears no guilt, and it is true that he pitied us at the time we were oppressed and our father was slaughtered. But you must remember that it has been seven years now that we have subjected ourselves to brutal martial training for the sole purpose of taking this revenge. Throughout these years, we have wandered the world across nine different nations, enduring absolute agony before unlocking the mystical secrets of sorcery we now possess—sacrifices so extreme we nearly lost our own lives. Are we now going to allow our seven years of preparation to shatter in vain because of a single individual? Know that I will do whatever it takes, as long as I succeed in killing King Alkasim, even if it requires me to slaughter every single citizen of Egypt, let alone the prince!"
As the warrior Namrita concluded her speech, her brother, the warrior Zaihas, became deeply troubled. He fell silent, analyzing and pondering her words, knowing fully well that she possessed a much fiercer temperament and never walked back on her word. After a moment, he placed both his hands upon her shoulders, locking his eyes with hers as his own eyes welled with tears. He said:
"O my sister, you know well that I am completely prepared to forfeit my life as long as this ambition of ours is fulfilled. But you must realize that this king we seek to kill is no ordinary foe; no enemy has ever succeeded against him. He has been ambushed countless times without success, and no matter how massive an assassination vanguard is, they cannot best him even when he is entirely alone—let alone us, who are just two individuals. Remember that in all our planning, we aimed to kill him through guile and deception because there is absolutely no way we can face him in a direct, head-on battle. My advice is that we attempt a surprise ambush against him, even if we have to do it two or three times. If we fail, then we can step out and face him head-on so that the matter reaches its ultimate conclusion—be it our death or his. After all, we do not know the full extent of his strength and preparation, nor does he know ours."
As Zaihas finished his explanation, Namrita's aggressive demeanor softened slightly. She lowered her head for a moment, then raised it to look at him with a smile, saying:
"Today, for the very first time, you have won an argument against me. I agree to this proposal of yours. However, you must quickly devise the specific nature of the ambush we shall launch against King Alkasim, the exact time we shall strike, and guarantee that we make no mistakes so that there is absolutely no way he can escape our malice."
Hearing this, joy enveloped Zaihas. He embraced Namrita, declaring:
"Verily, in the dead of this very night, we shall launch this ambush against him. I assure you, there is absolutely no way he will escape with his life!"
Hearing this assurance, Namrita too was overcome with intense happiness. This was the conspiracy that unfolded between the warrior Namrita and her brother, the warrior Zaihas—the twins who had spent seven years plotting a trap for King Alkasim to avenge their father's life.
Meanwhile, back at King Alkasim’s camp, everything manifested exactly as Prince Kamsus had commanded. The entire traveling group was successfully segregated into five distinct units. Only the King's vanguard soldiers and his royal servants were left unscattered, remaining entirely within the courtyard where the King's grand tent was pitched. Guards were immediately stationed to surround the entire perimeter of the camp to guarantee maximum security. Furthermore, elite scout soldiers were deployed up to twenty stations ahead and behind the forest to monitor the slightest movement of any living thing that could pose a threat of a surprise ambush.
Once all these security measures were fully established, Prince Kamsus began to inspect the five units one by one, carefully examining the traveling companions. After he had completed his inspection of every group, he was left completely baffled and deeply astonished. He did not see the twins anywhere. Moreover, despite his thorough investigation, not a single soul within the caravan had ever noticed them or witnessed the moment they slipped away and fled. There were no physical footprints left behind, nor any tracks from their horses.
This realization made Prince Kamsus instinctively know that these mysterious twins possessed an extraordinarily advanced level of preparation; they were undoubtedly a force to be feared, even though the King himself feared no one. Within his heart, Prince Kamsus never underestimated an enemy. Furthermore, despite his own immense gifts of warrior prowess, good fortune, physical strength, and sorcoerous power, he always kept the humility in his mind that a creature might exist who surpassed him in all these attributes—unlike King Alkasim, who operated under the absolute delusion that even if the entire world were to unite against him alone, they could never achieve victory over him.
King Alkasim sat inside his grand tent upon his luxurious bedding. Royal handmaidens were serving him wine and feeding him choice delicacies; he was in high spirits, acting as though there was not a single worry plaguing him in the world.
Suddenly, Prince Kamsus stepped inside the tent. Upon his entrance, the handmaidens immediately dispersed, exiting the tent and leaving the two of them entirely alone. Prince Kamsus sat down close to King Alkasim. Facing one another, Kamsus cleared his throat and addressed him with absolute composure:
"O my father, within your memory, do you believe there are any enemies of yours who might be trailing behind us on this journey of ours?"
Upon hearing this question, King Alkasim fell silent, raising his head to ponder the matter for several moments...
MAN AND JINN!!!
Book Two (2)
Part B
...He raised his head, pondering the matter for several moments. Then, he looked at the Prince, smiled, and said:
"O my son, know that over ten years ago, I struck such absolute terror into the hearts of all my enemies that they became thoroughly paralyzed with fear of me. The vast majority of them I crushed and wiped completely from the face of the earth. As for the survivors, they fled their homelands, scattering to distant corners of the world far away from my presence. I assure you, I executed over forty monarchs during that era. Therefore, I am completely certain that no such enemies remain within our entire continent."
As King Alkasim concluded his statement, he burst into a wicked, arrogant laugh, adding:
"Come now, my son! What exactly are you still doubting? Do you honestly believe there is a single creature left—be it man or jinn—who would commit the absolute folly of hunting my life, when he knows fully well that I am the Whirlwind of Pestilence that levels cities, and I am the River of Blood that swallows civilizations?"
When Prince Kamsus heard this grand declaration from his father, he let out a heavy sigh and replied:
"O my father, know that this world is incredibly vast. Similarly, the things within it are abundant, and no matter how advanced a city is, there is always another that stands before it. I absolutely accept that you are a terrifying force and a star that has illuminated the world, but you must realize that an era is like a garment. The master of charms must always be wary of the master of the current era. Your years are continuously advancing, and every single day brings a shift in the progression of worldly affairs. Right now, based on my own investigations, I have deduced that your enemies are present within this very caravan of ours. Yet, you, I, and our entire vanguard have failed to uncover their true identities. In fact, we cannot even physically see them. Can you truly not remember your very last enemies—those you failed to completely eliminate—or are there any individuals you suspect might become your enemies in the future?"
When King Alkasim heard this specific question, he fell completely silent and became deeply focused, instantly diving into the ocean of his memory regarding past events. After concluding his thoughts, he looked at Prince Kamsus and asked:
"Can you recall an event that unfolded in our city approximately seven years ago, when you were no more than eleven years old?"
Upon hearing this question, Prince Kamsus’s heart pounded violently. King Alkasim continued:
"There was a day when a foreign sorcerer arrived in our city and contaminated our drinking water. I immediately established a brutal law declaring that any individual who ever contaminated our drinking water again would face the immediate penalty of death. A year after that incident, a foreign merchant arrived along with his wife and his two twin children, and they inadvertently contaminated that same drinking water of ours. When they were arraigned before me, I immediately sentenced the man to death right then and there, without conducting any investigation to learn the underlying reason for his offense."
"That stands as the single, solitary mistake I have ever committed in my entire life, an act I regret to this very day. I used the absolute weight of my political power to terrify anyone who might disrupt my peace, thereby committing a flagrant injustice—because that foreign merchant was not executed for a malicious crime. He committed the offense purely by an accident of fate and sheer ignorance. Thinking upon it now, the children of that merchant could easily have grown up to become my mortal enemies, since they watched with their own eyes as I ordered their father's execution while they wept, screamed, and begged me for mercy. I shall never forget that at that moment, even you pleaded with me to grant their father a royal pardon."
The moment King Alkasim reached this specific point in his story, a memory instantly flashed across Prince Kamsus’s mind—the exact moment when the young girl, Namrita, had turned back to look at him as their mother dragged her and her brother away while they were being expelled from the city of Egypt. Instantly, Kamsus recognized that the very eyes he had looked into seven years ago were the exact same eyes he had just witnessed on the face of the female twin.
Tears immediately streamed down Prince Kamsus’s face. Looking at King Alkasim with a heartbroken expression, he said:
"Verily, those children of the merchant are the ones trailing us on this journey to exact their revenge upon you. I can feel it in my very soul that they are nearby, and they could launch a surprise ambush at any given moment!"
Upon hearing this declaration, King Alkasim threw his head back and burst into a maniacal, wicked laugh. His thunderous laughter thoroughly terrified the entire populace of the camp, causing the vanguard commander and his soldiers to rush frantically toward the front of the King's tent.
Seeing them, the King stood up, stepped outside his tent, and looked at Vanguard Commander Uzaila bin Kaidas, commanding:
"Quickly! Withdraw every single one of your men from this camp and its surroundings. I do not require a single one of you to provide me with security until I explicitly request it again of my own accord!"
Hearing this command, everyone’s mind was deeply unsettled, particularly Prince Kamsus’s. He looked at the King in absolute shock and panic, protesting:
"Oh, my father! This is nothing short of absolute reckless folly! You are virtually selling your life directly to your enemies!"
King Alkasim placed his hand upon the prince's shoulder, offering him a calm smile as he replied:
"Today, I shall demonstrate to you that the mouth of a well is no place for a child's game. I am a tough weed growing upon a rock; I did not emerge until I was fully prepared. To contend with me, thousands must unite! I have known about these two twins for a long time, and I was fully aware of their arrival in my kingdom during this period. The female is named Namrita, and the male is named Zaihas. They spent seven years wandering the world, visiting the greatest sorcerers and the most legendary warriors to master the arts of combat, warfare, and sorcery—for no other reason than to succeed in taking revenge against me."
"As we speak, they are stationed just ahead within a dense thicket called the Surfal Forest, and the distance between us does not exceed forty cubits. This very night, when the night divides in half, they will launch a surprise ambush to assassinate me. Therefore, I want everyone to clear out of their path, except for the Prince—for only the two of us can survive their malice."
As King Alkasim concluded his address, Uzaila bowed deeply and replied, "It shall be done, my sovereign."
Instantly, Vanguard Commander Uzaila gathered the entirety of the King's vanguard soldiers and marched them far ahead of the camp, where they established their own separate outpost. The rest of the traveling companions quickly followed behind Uzaila's men. Consequently, only the King and Prince Kamsus were left behind in the deserted camp, silently looking at one another.
Prince Kamsus was struck by such immense astonishment that he remained completely silent, staring intensely at the King. He was profoundly shocked by his father's actions; he had never imagined that the King possessed such absolute, comprehensive knowledge regarding their enemies.
The King looked at the Prince and said:
"And you, what are you standing around waiting for? Go and follow the rest of the crowd! I explicitly want to be left entirely alone."
Hearing this, Prince Kamsus dropped to his knees, grasping the King's feet as he pleaded:
"I beg of you, allow me to remain so I may witness how this conflict unfolds between you and these enemies."
The King fell silent, pondering the request for a moment, before replying:
"Very well, I agree. I will allow you to stand by my side, but under two strict conditions: You must not assist me in fighting these enemies, and you must not shield them from me."
When Prince Kamsus heard these conditions, his mind was deeply troubled, but he secretly resolved within his heart that he would execute whatever action his conscience dictated when the time came, even if it meant facing his father's wrath later. Looking at the King with a smile, he replied, "I accept your conditions."
When the night divided in half, the entire forest fell into an absolute, eerie silence. Not a single sound could be heard except for the whistling of the wind, the chirping of small insects, and the calls of night birds. By this time, King Alkasim had long fallen into a deep sleep, snoring loudly away. Prince Kamsus sat in a corner inside the tent, his eyes locked onto the King, marveling at him. He thought to himself: What manner of extraordinary, terrifying man is this king? How can a man who knows fully well that assassins are coming to kill him this very night simply lie down and fall into a peaceful sleep without the slightest hint of fear?
The moment he concluded this thought, he suddenly heard the roof of their tent tear completely into two halves. Before he could even raise his head to see what was happening, the warrior Namrita and the warrior Zaihas dropped down into the tent, thrusting their swords violently toward King Alkasim’s chest.
With breathtaking reflex and agility, King Alkasim struck the ground with the palms of his hands, launching his body into the air as though he had been pulled upward by a catapult. The assassins' swords struck the empty ground, embedding themselves deep into the earth. Before they could wrench their blades free, the King spun in mid-air, extending his legs to deliver a powerful kick directly to their chests.
Despite the immense force of the blow to their chests, the twins did not fall to the ground; they were merely forced backward. Instantly, a brutal, terrifying, and awe-inspiring battle erupted.
Throughout all of this action, Prince Kamsus remained seated exactly where he was, completely motionless. He kept his eyes locked onto the three warriors, watching the ferocious, terrifying, and phenomenal battle unfold. They spent nearly half an hour engaged in this brutal combat, yet the two twins failed to inflict so much as a single scratch upon King Alkasim’s body. Furthermore, since the inception of the duel, King Alkasim had not launched a single offensive strike; he was merely defending himself, his face adorned with a calm smile as though he were engaging in a playful game rather than a lethal battle. As it turned out, he was simply testing the absolute limits of these twins' warrior capabilities.
When he witnessed that the twins were completely incapable of bypassing his defenses, King Alkasim leaped high into the air, ascending into the heavens while spinning with the blinding speed of a perfectly spun top. Prince Kamsus himself had never witnessed such an extraordinary display of martial prowess, causing him to involuntarily raise his head toward the sky, marveling at the absolute power of God.
The two twins similarly raised their heads toward the heavens in utter astonishment. As they watched King Alkasim continue to ascend higher into the sky, vanishing into the clouds, they turned to look at one another, and instantly utilized their—
